These are my two new favorite songs for a few days.
I hardly ever like movies, which is a shame cause I love going to the movies. The problem is, when I leave I am almost always feel disappointed, annoyed, or down right peeved.
The movie is never as funny as I had heard it was going to be. Or the overall message gets under my skin. Or some one in the movie did something creepy that was glorified and it still bites at me cause the writers clearly wanted me to accept it as a good thing! (and so on).
I would make a terrible movie reviewer because I can never give pretty yet brief synopses of movies. I would just over analyzing and spoiling the end anyway. Hey, I was an English Lit major, so I am professionally trained to over analyze every single word uttered by every character and worry about every little thing they do.
Anyway, at best, lately I walk away from a movie thinking it was ok. As in, I was not totally bored out of my seat, or completely disgusted with the characters.
So, I feel compelled to mention Juno. Not that it was perfect (there are a couple tiny complaints…ok one, and even it is minor) but it is probably the first new movie I have seen in a long time that I can say I really, really, really loved. I actually laughed and cried, for real.
And the soundtrack was perfectly selected. I think I am actually a little in love with two or three of the songs (which are already on my MP3 player).
