Back in the Day, When I was a Bit of a Retard (No NOT Yesterday!)

When I was in Jr. high, I was beyond awkward.

I was a little chubby, I did the weird things with hair, I dressed like an idiot, I was sort of mean to people because I thought it made me cool, I made an idiot of myself every time I opened my mouth in front of boys, and I cried when some one teased me.

Over the last…ahem…17 years…I have managed to push the horrid experience that was the 90s well back in to the far recesses of my mind.

Good thing my sister is in town to remind me. I spent Saturday night being jabbed in the ribs and then hearing comments such as “remember that time you …” followed by a story that makes me sound like a total loser. Ah memories… (Just imagine me but with more klutz, less poise and no control of my tear ducts whatsoever).

Anyway, here is a picture of us now. Finally! I managed to get one that is not misty or grainy. I was starting to think she was a vampire the way she doesn't show up in photos.

I am not sure why, but every time, EVERY time we have ever taken a picture together, my sister and I make this same face and the same pose. We should know better, we really should, but I can’t let her get away with looking more sultry than me!!!

She made me go country dancing (I know!) and someone mistook us for polygamist because she and I had one guy (her fiancé), and we bought the same shirt. She does not read this blog so you all can feel free to post comments about how it looks WAY better on me.
Umn…guys?

(Yeah, she didn’t used to have THOSE!)

Lisa,

Don't lie.
